ESE has organized an initial meeting with the courts on December 5, 2017

The Association for Emancipation, Solidarity and Equality of Women – ESE, in October this year started with the implementation of the two-year project "The Paths to Justice for Women Who Have Suffered Domestic Violence", financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within the USAID Citizen Engagement Project CEP. The main goal of the project implemented by ESE is to improve the access to justice for women who have suffered domestic violence, that is, the advancement of the criminal and civil court procedures for protection against domestic violence.

On 05th of December 2017 in Skopje, an initial meeting was held with presidents and judges from the Basic Courts, in order to inform them about the forthcoming project and the dynamics of joint activities. The event was attended by representatives from the following courts: Basic Court Skopje 1, Basic Court Skopje 2, Court of Appeal Skopje, Basic Court Bitola, Basic court Tetovo, Basic court Gostivar, Basic court Radovis and Primary court in Prilep.

In the frames of this initiative, Association ESE will work closely with the representatives of the courts in order to improve the judicial proceedings in cases related to domestic violence and accelerate the reforms in the criminal and civil legal system of protection, as well as to provide free legal assistance and psychological counseling for women who have suffered domestic violence.
