ORGANIZATIONAL SETUP

ASSEMBLY

ESE’s Assembly is the highest governing body that determines the association’s general policy and strategic priorities. It is comprised of individual and honorary members. The Assembly operates by holding at least one session per year,. It is considered to be in session when attended by majority of assembly members and takes decisions by means of majority vote among members in attendance, unless ESE’s Statute stipulates qualified majority vote.

GOVERNING BOARD

ESE’s Governing Board is an executive body of the Assembly. It is comprised of five members, with a mandate of four years and right to re-election. Members of the Governing Board are appointed by the Assembly by means of majority vote from the total number of members. The Governing Board executes and takes decision on activities determined by the Assembly in the association’s general policy and strategic priorities, approves the association’s organizational structures, takes decisions on funding projects and programs, appoints the association’s executive director, etc. It operates pursuant to ESE’s Rules of Procedure and holds at least two meetings per year or more when deemed necessary.

EXECUTIVE OFFICE

ESE’s Executive Office performs tasks and duties envisaged under the association’s general policy, strategic priorities, annual programs and financial plans. The office’s organization and work are regulated by internal acts adopted by the Governing Board. It is managed by the Executive Director and Deputy Directors. The Executive Director represents and acts on behalf of the association and is held accountable before the Governing Board.

Jasminka Frishchikj

Executive Director

Jasminka is part of ESE’s team since 1996. In 1998, she was appointed as ESE’s Executive Director, having previously worked as Legal Program Coordinator at the association. She has graduated at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje and currently attends postgraduate studies in the field of civil society development at the Southeast European University. In the capacity of ESEs’ Executive Director, Jasminka works on multitude of issues, including promotion of women rights and the concept of gender equality; promotion of the concept of budget monitoring and analysis at national and local level; analysing and monitoring implementation of international human rights documents; promotion of human rights in the field of healthcare; promotion and development of legal, paralegal and other types of services for protecting the right to health, especially the right to health for Roma people, etc.

Darko Antikj, MA

Budget Monitoring and Analysis Coordinator

Darko is part of ESE’e team since 2011. He coordinates activities related to budget monitoring and analysis. Darko has earned a Master Degree at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in the department on finances and financial law with the thesis “Legal Aspects of Public Debt Financing from National Sources in the Republic of Macedonia”, having previously graduated at the Faculty of Economy in Skopje in the department on financial management on the topic “Analysis of the Population’s Trust in the Banking Sector of the Republic of Macedonia”. Before joining the association, he had worked in the field of finances. As part of ESE’s team, he works on promotion and advocacy for the need to create public budgets that ensure equitable exercise of rights by all people; budget planning and execution according to the principles of efficiency, effectiveness, rationality and transparency; financially transparent and accountable state administration; participatory and open budget processes; adherent enforcement of health policies and programs, etc.

Borjan Pavlovski, MD

Public Health and Women Health Coordinator

Borjan joined ESE’s team in 2004. He coordinates activities in the field of public health and women health. He has graduated at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in the department on general medicine and currently attends postgraduate studies in the field of public health at the same university. Borjan has completed an international postgraduate course on healthcare system management and fight against poverty – social and health methodologies for development. His previous work experience includes work as Health Program Assistant and Coordinator. As part of ESE’s team, Borjan works on promoting and advocating for improved health of women and marginalized communities, with focus on Roma people; promoting access to healthcare services and human rights in general, for women and marginalized groups; promoting budget transparency among healthcare institutions and improved effectiveness in implementation of preventive healthcare measures and health budget spending at national and local level.

Stojan Mishev

Human Rights Monitoring, Legal Aid and Psychological Support Coordinator

Stojan is member of ESE’s team since 2003. He graduated at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje and currently attends postgraduate studies in criminal law at the same university. In the period 2010–2012, Stojan worked at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights with focus on human rights-based approach to decision-making, poverty alleviation strategies and social inclusion of vulnerable groups at local level. As part of ESE’s team, Stojan works on promoting and advocating for women rights and gender equality; advancing the status of women who are victims of domestic violence and improving legal protection systems; promoting and developing legal, paralegal and other types of services for protection of the right to health, especially the right to health for Roma people, etc.

Jane Veleski

Administration, Finance and Logistic Assistant

Jane is part of ESE’s team since 2000. He works as assistant for administrative, financial and logistic operations; communication with banks, institutions and donors; day-to-day operation of the association; system maintenance; designing and upgrading ESE’s websites; and designing publications materials.

Delfina Todorovska

Legal Aid and Psychological Support Assistant

Delfina joined ESE in 2017. She works as assistant at the Legal Aid and Psychological Support Centre providing services to women who are victims of domestic violence. She graduated at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje. As part of ESE’s team, she works on issues related to promoting protection measures for women who are victims of domestic violence and gender-based discrimination; facilitating access to basic protection measures against domestic violence and discrimination for vulnerable categories of citizens; and providing legal aid and support for women who are victims of domestic violence and other vulnerable categories of women.
