On 18 December 2025, in Kumanovo, we held the third educational workshop dedicated to improving maternal and child health, with a particular focus on maternal mental health. Fourteen women participated in the workshop, some of whom were pregnant, while others were mothers who had given birth within the past year.

As part of the educational session, participants were informed about the importance of taking care of their own health during pregnancy, the physical and psychological changes that are expected during this period, as well as the possible risks and health conditions women may face. Special attention was given to the postpartum period, covering both normal experiences and symptoms that indicate the need for timely and appropriate health support.

Part of the workshop was dedicated to the care, development, and early stimulation of infants and young children aged 0 to 3 years. The women received practical guidance on recognizing children’s developmental needs and on creating a safe and supportive environment that contributes to their healthy growth and development.

In the segment dedicated to maternal mental health, the most common challenges faced by women during pregnancy and after childbirth were addressed. Participants had the opportunity to actively engage in discussion, as well as to practice relaxation techniques and stress-coping strategies.

The workshop in Kumanovo is part of a series of ten planned educational workshops implemented by ESE within the project “Cooperation in the Field of Healthcare with North Macedonia,” financially supported by the Embassy of France in North Macedonia.
