The Coordinator of the Public Health Program at the Association ESE participated in the 2025 Annual Meeting of the ASTRA Network held in Krakow, Poland — a vibrant and inclusive space that brought together member organizations and allies from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Over the course of two intensive days filled with discussions, experience sharing, and joint planning, participants reflected on key achievements, identified shared challenges, and contributed to shaping ASTRA’s strategic priorities for the 2025–2026 period. The program included:

  • updates from member organizations,
  • a World Café session on best practices,
  • workshops on advocacy at the EU and UN level,
  • a specialized session on the shrinking civic space and the rise of anti-gender movements in the region.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the launch of the consultation process for ASTRA’s new strategy, which lays the foundation for a renewed regional vision. The event also featured sessions on self-protection and personal empowerment, as well as recordings for ASTRA’s upcoming documentary film, adding a creative and personal dimension to the gathering.

The meeting once again reaffirmed ASTRA’s role as a key platform for cooperation, solidarity, and action in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights.
